Review of Pacific Poker from Poker Listing

7.48 - Pacific Poker has grown tremendously during 2004 thanks to massive marketing efforts. They have become a favorite poker room for many Texas Holdem players looking for very "juicy" high-action tables and frequent promotions. No-limit and Pot-Limit tournaments have been launched in March 2004, ring games in NL/PL are scheduled for September. The clunky software is the only letdown, where you can only play at one table at the time. There are many special promotions, most notably the high cash prizes in constant \"Relay Races\" for all players depsiting $50 the day of the promotion. There are also a few money added event and free rolls. Pacific Poker is part of the group behind the world\'s largest casino - Casino-on-Net since - so there are a lot of \"wild\" casino customers at the tables. At the limit Holdem games on Pacific Poker, the view flop percentage in full $15/$30 ring games used to be in the 60-ies and 70-ies - even up in the 80-ies until spring 2004 (no kidding). With the recent influx of more seasoned players the view flop percentage is down to say 40-55% at the higher stakes tables, which is still great. The traffic is very concentrated to the Holdem games (still only fixed limit in ring games), where the tournament section has grown most quickly (with both PL and NL). In sum, the action is outstanding and the promotions are great - but the software is still very basic and the graphics leaves room for major improvement.
